An Evening amongst the Roses with Michael Marriott in aid of The Talk About Trust - 13th June 2024

Wander amongst the roses of Dorset Walled Garden being guided by Michael Marriott, former Head Rosarian at David Austin, in aid of the very worthy local charity The Talk About Trust. This very special evening will give you the chance to see the many rose varieties here at their peak, whilst benefitting from Michael's incredible knowledge of historic and modern roses. 

Michael's career as Head Rosarian at David Austin for 35 years has led to him becoming one of the world's leading experts on roses. Michael travels the world lecturing, consulting and building rose gardens whilst also being Chairman of the Historic Roses Group, so we are incredibly fortunate to be able to listen to him as he takes us through the heady scent of the (100+) rose varieties in the garden, at such a perfect time in the rose season.

The Talk About Trust is a local charity that has caught our attention because of the incredible work they do in raising awareness amongst children, teaching them resilience and giving them the life skills to help them make the right choices around alcohol and drugs, which has such a bearing on their future.  The charity not only supports children in schools, youth and sports clubs, but it focusses on the most vulnerable teenagers and young people not in education, those living in areas of deprivation who are most vulnerable to substance use,  grooming or being recruited into County Lines.  The charity also train the professionals that work with these young children and teenagers, to ensure they are equipped wih the tools and skills to support them day to day.  We are so impressed by the extent of their work and the difference they are making locally, but also helping other charities to do the same, around the country.  The Talk About Trust has our full support this year and we hope you will come along to this event to support their incredible work and our future.

We shall serve wine, refreshments and light canapes on arrival, followed by Michael's tour of the garden.

This is a ticketed event and numbers will be very limited!

Please note that our events are non-refundable, so do make sure that you are able to attend on the specified date. However,  if Dorset Walled Garden has to postpone or cancel the event, then all monies will be refunded. We reserve the right to cancel this event if not enough places are booked onto it .​
